The Drawing and Communication Laboratory, as a space where scientific knowledge is applied with practical objectives, is a multidisciplinary research structure / unit of FAUL / CIAUD dedicated to the development of applied research projects in the area of artistic studies accordingly with the FCT nomenclature.

We aim for a Drawing and Communication Laboratory of national and international academic reference as a specialized research centre in the sciences of Design, graphic representation and artistic expression, communication and visual culture, in its practice and in its theory, in the draw taken from reality to the drawing of the imaginary as well as in the digital design innovation aspect, accompanying the contemporary cultural trends.

The Drawing and Communication Laboratory aims to support training and research of Draw and Communication in its various aspects, articulate the research activity with the design program of the Architecture Faculty, Architecture courses, Interior Design, Urbanism, Design, Fashion and Scenography, integrating postgraduate researchers (masters and doctoral students) in research projects in Drawing and Communication, in the various study cycles of the Architecture Faculty and institutions with which FAUL has or will establish protocols.

The Drawing and Communication Laboratory is organized from a structure of scientific and technical coordination of an operative nature.

The Drawing and Communication Laboratory is part of the CIAUD - Research Centre for Architecture, Urbanism and Design, of Faculty of Architecture, University of Lisbon.
